You're about to start a Multi-Family Building Permit Application.
Here you can apply for new Townhouses, Apartment Buildings, and Stratified Duplexes and Single Family Dwellings.
You must have a MyCity profile to apply online. If you don't have one yet, you can create one here.
Once you start the application you will have 30 days to submit it. Your application will be saved to your MyCity profile until you submit and pay for it. You can access it by logging into MyCity, then clicking on the In Progress Applications button at the top of the Registered Accounts page.
Application fee payments must be made by Visa or Mastercard. A non-refundable 2.75% service fee will apply.
Required Documentation for all Applications:
- Title Search - dated within the last 3 months (can be accessed through LTSA.ca)
- Agency Agreement - if you’re applying on behalf of the property owner
- Truss Layout from the manufacturer
- Site plan - with setbacks
- Lot Grading Plan - Grading Plan sets out parameters for the preparation of a lot specific grading plan. (Example Plan )
- On- and Off-Site Civil Works Drawings
- New Home Warranty registration from BC Housing
- BC Company Summary - if the property is owned in a company name
- Building Code Summary
- Energy Step Code Pre-Construction Compliance Checklist & HOT 2000 report (new builds only)
- Sealed Design Drawings - with Schedule B's and Insurance from any Engineers involved with the project

- Foundation layout
- Floor plans
- Cross sections
- Elevations
- Braced wall band design and details
Note: Additional documentation may be required.
Once you complete your online application, you will receive a reference number, which will allow you to review your submission under your MyCity profile.
