You're about to start a Residential Building Permit Application.
You must have a MyCity profile to apply online. If you don't have one yet, you can create one
here
Once you start the application you will have 30 days to submit it. Your application will be saved to your MyCity profile until you submit and pay for it. You can access it by logging into MyCity, then clicking on the In Progress Applications button at the top of the Registered Accounts page.
Application fee payments must be made by Visa or Mastercard. A non-refundable 2.75% service fee will apply
Required Documentation for all Applications:
- Title search - dated within the last 3 months (can be accessed through LTSA.ca)
- Charges on Title - Non-financial charges, legal notations, covenants, statutory right of way, etc.
- Agency Agreement - if you’re applying on behalf of the property owner
- Owner/Builder Authorization from BC Housing (new builds only)
- BC Housing Licensing and Consumer Services Registration (New Home Warranty)
- Energy Step Code Pre-Construction Compliance Checklist & HOT 2000 report (new builds only)
- BC Building Code Letters of Assurance - Schedule B when using registered professionals
- Owners Acknowledgement
- Building Code Summary
- Lot Grading Plan
- Truss and Floor joist Layout
- Design Drawings:
- Foundation layout
- Floor plans
- Cross sections
- Elevations
- Braced wall band design and details

Once you complete your online application, you'll receive an reference number, which will allow you to review your submission under your MyCity profile.
